Cody

Male, 10-month-old Border Collie mix

Foster assessment:

He was living on the street – very skinny. He is at my house now. Just got him neutered last Thursday. Will get him heartworm/ehrlichia tested etc. next week along with his vaccinations – didn’t want to do them now b/c he is really stressed, so I am sure his immune system is lowered. He is soooo loving and sweet. No accidents in the house (but I do keep the door open). He is very playful and always makes me laugh. I should have called him Sombra b/c he is most definitely my shadow. 😁 He is a bit of a barker – but only when I leave b/c he wants to come with me – however – he soon settles down (according to girl who cleans my house). He is a little food possessive but that is to be expected as I just rescued him last Sunday, and he was practically starving when I got him. However, he is getting better with that b/c he knows that he has food available now all the time. He is doing fine with the other dogs and cats – although he can be a bit jealous, but again, I doubt anyone has ever shown this poor boy any kindness. So, he bonded with me quickly.

His only other issue that I am working on is that he mouths when he gets excited – which is common for the breed and b/c he is still a puppy. He also play growls. So, for those two reasons, I would recommend him for children over 10 years. However, Cody is CRAZY intelligent. He learned his name within 5 minutes.

He is such a sweet boy.
